South Bank - Banks VillasA filter to the natural elements

As part of our work on the 32-acre South Bank development, which includes 19 Ocean Villas, 19 Lagoon Villas, and 12 condominiums, the Banks Villas are a collection of four homes located on rugged oceanfront terrain. The villas are embedded into the untamed landscape, stepping away on approach and then cascading down towards the ocean. The low-slung form of each villa is designed to maximize the width of the site, whilst hugging the land and acting as buffer to the natural elements.

Designed with flexibility for both daily life and lively entertaining, the main living area is a full-width, open-plan volume that connects to an oceanside deck. Shaded outdoor spaces are placed at the north and south elevations of the house, subverting the concept of a front and back facade. Instead, each orientation serves a different outdoor use throughout the day.
