SECOND NATURE 02Winter 25/26

Blee Halligan returns with the second edition of Second Nature, a bi-annual publication designed to lead conversations around Buildings in Nature, Living in Landscape and Designing for Climate. This issue considers climate as an active participant in architecture, rather than a backdrop.

Light, in particular, becomes a thread throughout this issue, shaping behaviours and sharpening the edges between inside and out. This edition does not necessarily present finished conclusions, but instead captures projects and ideas at the point where they are still being calibrated, from design charrettes to architectural modelmaking.

In the tropics, the environment is always present, and Second Nature 02 documents what happens when architecture chooses to engage with it directly.
